Roambook
Privacy Policy

Summary: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your trips stay on your device and in your own iCloud.
What data Roambook handles
Roambook stores only what you enter yourself: trip names and destinations, dates, places you plan to visit, notes, check-in times, packing lists, expenses and budgets, and the photos you add to a trip scrapbook. There are no user accounts, and the developer operates no server that receives your data.
Where your data lives
All data is stored locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled on your device, it syncs through your personal iCloud private database under your Apple ID. The developer cannot access, read, or recover any of it. Photos you add are stored this way too, and count towards your own iCloud storage.
No analytics, no tracking, no ads
Roambook contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking technologies, and no third-party SDKs. Nothing about how you use the app is measured or transmitted anywhere. The app requests no tracking permission because it does not track you across apps or websites.
Maps and place search
Roambook uses Apple's MapKit and CoreLocation frameworks in two places:
- When you search for a place to add to a trip, what you type is sent to Apple Maps to return search results.
- To label which country a trip or a saved stop belongs to, Roambook asks Apple's geocoder about coordinates that are already stored in your trip.
These requests go to Apple and are handled under Apple's privacy policy — never to the developer, and never to any other third party.
Roambook never reads your device location. The app requests no location permission and contains no location-permission description, so iOS cannot grant it one. Nothing on the map is based on where you physically are.
Notifications
Trip reminders — a morning summary on each day of a trip, and a prompt to add photos after it ends — are local notifications scheduled on your device. The developer runs no push server. Roambook asks for notification permission when you create your first trip, not on first launch, and the app works fully if you decline.
Purchases
Roambook Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through your Apple ID. The developer never sees your payment details. Whether you own it is checked against Apple's StoreKit records on your device.
Permissions Roambook asks for
- Photo library — only so you can pick photos to add to a trip scrapbook.
- Notifications — to remind you about a trip that is starting or has just ended.
Roambook asks for nothing else. It does not use the camera, the microphone, your contacts, your calendar, your health data, or your location.
Deleting your data
Delete any trip, stop, photo, or expense inside the app at any time. To remove everything, delete the app and remove Roambook's iCloud data in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Children
Roambook is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
